1. What is the difference between revision and inspection?

In common language these two words are synonymous. However, this is not the case in thecnical world. Namely, as Endesa points out: 

'Inspections are for general gas installations (meter, pipes, keys and rubbers...). While the revisions are specific for: boilers, electric water heaters and water heaters.'

2. Are the inspections and revisions compulsory?

Yes. In this sense it is necessary to emphasize not only because it is compulsory what should really impel you to make them is your own security.

3. How often are gas inspections and revisions to be carried out?

A technician must check the boiler every two years and inspect the entire installation every five. 

4. Which is the regulation of inspections and revisions?

Any legal obligation has to be published so that you can know it. Beware! You can not claim ignorance of the legislation to not comply with it.  In Spain, the corresponding legislation is the Regulation of Thermal Inspections of Buildings. 

Are there any costs for gas inspections/revisions?

Yes, there is always a cost. This is always paid via the gas bill never "in hand" to the technician. The amount is divided into two items: 1. The management costs of the distributor are fixed 15.49 € and must always be paid. 2. The inspection itself: in Catalonia this second cost will be 41.75 €. Therefore, the entire cost in Catalonia is: 57.24 €.

6. How should gas inspections be reported?

The distribution company is responsible for doing so. It must notify the consumer that it is his turn to pass the inspection three months before carrying it out. If the customer does not notify that he prefers to do so with an independent company, the distributor will send a communication proposing an appointment at least five days before the visit of the technician. In this way, you have the possibility of changing it with a certain margin if it is impossible for you to attend to the reviewer.

It should be noted that although the distributing company is the one who should do the inspection (or a third company contracted by you) the ultimate responsible for the inspection are the owner and the community of owners not to do it there are sanctions.         

7. Who is empowered to carry out gas inspections and reviews?

An approved technician whose identification must always be visible. Be careful, there are false technicians who, with the excuse of performing an act, commit crimes. 

8. What is the process followed if wrong things are detected?

Not all inspections/reviews are correct. If you do not pass the inspection/review, you should contact an installer or authorized company/SAT to correct the detected mistakes. 

9. How is it recorded that the wrong things have been repaired?

The technician who solves the errrors will have to fill in the Justifier of Correction of Anomalies (JCA), where it will leave record that the problem has been fixed.

Once completed, the technician must send the document through the Platform for installers of the installer's website where it will record that the problem has been fixed. It is essential that the Proof of Correction arrives, otherwise the supplier will not be aware of it.

10. Can the gas supply be interrupted if the failures persist?

Yes, so to avoid the interruption, the technician must communicate the rectification of anomalies to the supplier.
