What does 'greenwashing' mean?

This term is defined as: "the action of taking advantage of the growing awarness towards nature to build a misleading image of corporate social responsibility". To choose this way allows to obtain an image profit. However, to lie is completely immoral.

'Greenwashing' risk is higher when a company outsources actions because it is possible to lose control of their impact. Think, for example, of contracting a tree planting to balance CO₂ emissions: are we sure that this well-intentioned initiative does not have undesired impacts?.

Is 'greenwashing' the same as 'marketing'?

Not at all.  We must clearly distinguish them, while 'greenwashing' is a bad practice, marketing, if it is not aggressive, is not. The latter wants: to make a product known in order to its transparent sell. 

Moreover, good marketing corrects the " information asymmetry" between seller and consumer. It is worth imagining, for a moment, a world without marketing: there would be many more scams, accidents due to a general lack of product knowledge and no market competivness.

Honestly, companies based on city like ours are not used to being in contact with nature. From this sincerity we face the core of the text.

What does Finques Feliu really do for the planet?

a) In 2019 we set a significant, realistic and verifiable goal:  non-recycled paper use reduction. 

After going a long way, this material has almost disappeared from our offices. It is now recycled, and when it is not - because it comes from outside - everything is ready to do the process. You can check it out at our offices at Via Augusta 143 and 147 in Barcelona or at Pont de Can Vernet 12 in Sant Cugat. 

The fact that the scenario for our purpose execution is our headquaters makes everything easier for our team to get involved and involve the client: in this way the power of our initiative is extended.

We erase any shadow of 'ecowashing': raising awareness does not directly help the planet.

We have been very hesitant to include environmental articles on our blog as "action for the planet". Although it could be considered correct - in fact we speak about awareness-raising texts - at Finques Feliu we have ruled it out.
